I'm surprised you can't modify the triple click home function in settings. Sounds like we need to put out a new app!!

It's nice, no doubt, but it has a long way to go to catch FB. The features are there, and they've obviously put a lot of thought into privacy, but I like the fact that about 90% of the people I've ever known are on FB.

My biggest hope is that the two sites will eventually be seamlessly integrated via plugins and whatnot, so that it won't really matter which site I'm actually "on" anymore. Either that, or FB triumphs after copying the best new features of Google+.

Otherwise, fragmenting the community will not be a good thing; FB is not going to rapidly fade away like MySpace did.

Bill, I agree that the setup has been a joy because of its ease. Google made it so easy to get started that you hardly notice the lack of content until you've invested some time in polishing your profile. Now that more and more people are popping on, I find myself engaging people I don't engage as often even on Facebook. There's something to the circles that makes you want to invest a little more thought/time into what you want to say to individual groups.

I installed the Google+twitter extension and now I can use my Twitter account in +, which is nice, but not fully functional as of yet. Still, it's a step in the right direction. The ideas you suggested are exactly what people need to make any kind of transition from Facebook to Google+.

Something that bothers me though is actually good and bad for Google+. Making this network an individuals' network (as opposed to businesses, through pages, etc.) is very nice for the individual (especially with the privacy settings and content control). Many people will switch for that reason alone. But does Google plan on allowing businesses into the fold eventually or will they keep it the way it is? From what I've heard they want to keep businesses out. Again, this is good for the individual and bad for businesses trying to build up a social networking aim.

I also bought the Woot deal which from what I could tell failed to mention that it was the Brown version... looks good though. Sony has announced the next Dash which will have some built-in battery and an even bigger screen (could also drive the price of these down even more).
At the very least this makes a nice Photo display, but it is more then that if you can be bothered with the configuration. This is not in the iPad realm. iPad's don't cost $80 bucks. Glorified wi-fi nightstand clock for nerds, that's why I bought it.
